Adrian was born in Lincolnshire and studied zoology and psychology at Reading before becoming a professional author in 2007. His literary influences include Gene Wolfe, Mervyn Peake, China Miéville, Steven Erikson, Naomi Novak, Scott Lynch and Alan Campbell.
Adrian primarily explores deep themes, such as artificial intelligence and alien awareness within epic galactic and fantastical settings.
He has a deep interest in the animal world specifically insects from his studies in Zoology and has a particular penchant for spiders.
Mafalda Santos
Mafalda was born in Lisbon in 1982. At the age of fifteen, after a lifetime of nurturing the idea that she would become a journalist like her father, she discovered a passion for the theatre and everything changed, leading to an eight-year period of study and discovery. She completed the Acting course at the Cascais Professional Theatre School and subsequently graduated with a degree in Theatre/Directing from the Higher School of Theatre and Cinema.
Today, her professional work spans several areas: she is a playwright for theatre and television, an actress, a director and an acting teacher. Her novel Enquanto o Fim Não Vem (Until the End Comes) won the Ataegina Prize for Published Books in 2024 and, in 2025, she won the Mais Literatura Prize at the Mais Alentejo gala. Terra Estreita (Narrow Land) is her fourth novel.
Sara Felix
Sara is a Hugo award winning mixed media artist. Her works are typically done in alcohol ink, acrylics and resin. She also creates a weekly tiara for Tiara Tuesday and has created over 100 unique tiaras in the project. She teaches online and in person classes when she can. They typically sell out quickly as she has a large following with her creations.
She has been guest of honor at multiple conventions across the states and shows at science fiction art shows when she can. She has designed 2 Hugo bases, the 2016 base and co-designed the 2018 Hugo base with Vincent Villafranca. She has designed three WSFS Young Adult Award/Lodestar awards as well as the nominee pins.
She is the president of ASFA, the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists, who bestow the Chesleys each year. In 2018 curated Infinite Worlds: The Art of the Fantastic gallery show in Austin. It featured 36 contemporary science fiction and fantasy artists working in illustration to sculpture.
Brjann Sigurgeirsson
Brjann considers himself lucky to be one of those people able to work on their dream – in this case, making amazing video games. Brjann runs a studio – Image & Form – in Gothenburg, Sweden, with 20+ other talented people.
Brjann has lived in Tokyo and San Francisco and has carved out a niche for himself over the years as a graphic designer and programmer. These days he focuses also on running the studio and doing PR/marketing for their games.
Image & Form has released award winning games, like Anthill (for iOS), SteamWorld Dig, SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig 2 (for Nintendo 3DS / PC / Mac / Linux / PS4 / PS Vita/ Nintendo Wii U / Xbox One / Switch).
Seran Demiral
Seran is a children’s literature and science fiction writer from Istanbul, Turkey. As a teenager, she published two fantasy novels, Münzevi (Hermit) and Hissizleşme (Numbing). After graduating with a degree in architecture, she pursued a PhD in sociology, during which she began integrating social issues into her fiction. Her first science-fiction novel, Hayat Üretim Merkezi (Life Production Centre), was published in 2015. During this period, her interest in children’s and young adult literature deepened, leading her to write for adolescent and youth audiences.
Her science fiction stories have appeared in several languages, and she has participated in numerous national and international events, book fairs, and writer residency programs. Her novel for adolescents, Hatırla, has been translated into Serbian and published as Seti Se. Her most recent children’s series, Düşün, addresses technological topics and science-fiction themes. She is currently working on new novels, science-fiction stories, and theatre plays.
